Ein Fall von einseitiger Retinopathia pigmentosa

Zusammenfassung

Über einen Fall von Retinopathia pigmentosa unilateralis mit 15jähriger Beobachtungszeit wird berichtet. Das erkrankte Auge zeigte alle typischen pathologischen Veränderungen, während am zweiten Auge alle Befunde - einschließlich ERG und EOG - normal waren und blieben. Trotz gesicherten ophthalmologischen Befundes sollte, solange keine Heredität nachweisbar ist, von einer tapetoretinalen Degeneration mit dem Erscheinungsbild einer einseitigen Retinopathia pigmentosa gesprochen werden.

Summary

A case of unilateral retinitis pigmentosa ovserved over a period of 15 years is reported. The affected eye showed all typical pathologic manifestations, while in the healthy eye all findings - including ERG and EOG - were normal. In spite of the unequivocal ophthalmological diagnosis the condition should be regarded as a tapetoretinal degeneration with the clinical picture of unilateral retinitis pigmentosa so long as there is no evidence that it is hereditary.
