Zusammenfassung

Aufgrund der Alterung der Bevölkerung ist mit einer Zunahme von adulten Wirbelsäulendeformitäten zu rechnen. Deformitäten die mit einer koronaren oder sagittalen Imbalance assoziiert sind, beeinträchtigen die Lebensqualität in besonderem Maße. Häufig sind diese Deformitäten zusätzlich rigide und erfordern daher für eine operative Korrektur eine langstreckige Versorgung.

Abstract

Due to an aging society, an increase of adult spinal deformities is to be expected. Deformities associated with a coronary or sagittal imbalance particularly impair the patients' quality of life. Additionally, these deformities are usually rigid and therefore require a long spinal fusion for an adequate surgical correction.
