Zusammenfassung

Die Kombination aus PET und MRT in einem einzigen Gerät (PET-MRT) ist die neueste Variante der bisher erfolgreichen Hybridgeräte, bestehend aus einem nuklearmedizinischen Tomografieverfahren und einer komplementären Methode mit Schwerpunkt bei der morphologischen Bildgebung. Neben Geräten für die sequentielle Daten­akquisition wie bei den bisher etablierten Hybridgeräten SPECT-CT und PET-CT sind auch erste enger integrierte Geräte für die simultane Bildaufnahme verfügbar. Die klinische Zukunft dieses hochinteressanten Verfahrens ist derzeit noch offen.

Bei der PET-MRT handelt es sich um ein hochkomplexes Verfahren. Details sowohl der technischen Entwicklung als auch des optimalen klinischen Einsatzes sind Gegenstand intensiver Forschung. Die optimale Schwächungskorrektur, die Nutzung des MRT zur Bewegungs- und Partialvolumenkorrektur der PET-Daten sowie die Entwicklung optimierter multimodaler Bildgebungsansätze mit einer effektiven und effizienten Auswahl von Bildparametern sind wichtige Fragestellungen.

Abstract

The combination of PET and MRI in a single device (PET-MRI) is the latest variant of the successful hybrid imaging approach that combines a tomographic nuclear imaging device with a complementary method with a focus on morphological imaging. In addition to devices for sequential data acquisition, similar to the established hybrid devices SPECT-CT and PET-CT, more tightly integrated systems for simultaneous imaging have started to appear on the market. The clinical future of this highly interesting imaging method is at present still unclear.

PET-MRI is a highly complex method. Details of both the technical implementation and the optimal clinical application are in the focus of intensive research. The optimal attenuation correction, the use of MRI for motion and partial volume correction of PET data as well as the development of multimodal imaging approaches with an effective and efficient choice among the imaging parameters are important issues.
