Summary

Radioisotope photoscanning of the liver is an important screening procedure for the detection of localized intrahepatic and extrahepatic disease. The diagnostic accuracy of the procedure can be greatly enhanced by the routine use of the right lateral view as well as the standard anterior view. Selected cases are presented to illustrate the value of the right lateral view in liver photoscanning.

La scintigraphic du foie est une méthode importante pour la détection de maladies à localisation intrahépatique et extrahépatique. La précision diagnostique de ce procédé peut étre considérablement augmentée par l’emploi de routine de la vue latérale droite aussi bien que de la vue de face dont se sert la pratique courante. A l’aide de cas sélectionnés l’auteur met en évidence la valeur diagnostique de la scintigraphic latérale du foie.

Die Photoszintigraphie der Leber ist eine wichtige Untersuchungsmethode zur Diagnose verschiedener intra- und extrahepatischer Erkrankungen. Die diagnostische Genauigkeit der Methode kann durch die routinemäßige Anwendung des Scans von der rechten Seite, zusätzlich zum normalen Scan von vorne, wesentlich verbessert werden. Ausgewählte Fälle werden vorgewiesen.
