Zusammenfassung
In enger Verzahnung von Technik und Medizin erfasst und analysiert die Audi Accident Research Unit (AARU) Verkehrsunfälle, an denen Audi-Fahrzeuge beteiligt sind. Abhängig von der jeweiligen Unfallkonstellation besteht ein differierendes Verletzungsrisiko für Pkw-Insassen. Für die Einschätzung einer Unfallschwere und dem daraus resultierenden Verletzungsrisiko ist es unzureichend, sich ausschließlich an der Verformung des Unfallfahrzeuges zu orientieren. Moderne Systeme der passiven Sicherheit mindern die physikalischen Belastungen auf Pkw-Insassen. Bei richtigem Umgang beeinträchtigen diese Systeme, wie beispielsweise der Airbag, die Rettung von Unfallopfern nicht.
The „Entrapped” Trauma of Vehicle Occupants as Seen by the Accident Expert. „Audi” Traffic Accident Research Project AARU
In close co-operation between technology and medicine, the Audi Accident Research Unit (AARU) records and analyses traffic accidents involving late model Audi passenger cars. Depending on the particular accident constellation, there are variations in the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. In evaluating accident severity and the consequent risk of injury, it is not sufficient to base evaluation exclusively on vehicle deformation. Modern passive safety systems reduce physical loads imposed on vehicle occupants. If handled properly, such systems, as for example air bags, will not impede efforts to rescue accident victims.
