Abstract

The synthesis of different unsymmetrical new alkoxy­nitrostilbenes bearing one or two monomers groups, as optimized nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores, are described herein. The considered functions were acrylate and triethoxysilyl groups. The goal is to synthesize molecules with a large quadratic NLO polarizability and relative high solubility in photopolymerizable media that could also be permanently frozen by orientation in an electric field and photopolymerization.
