Significance

The asymmetric synthesis of 2,2-disubstituted terminal epoxides remains challenging despite the number of pathways currently available. The authors report an approach based on the Corey-Chaykovsky epoxidation of ketones to afford enantiomerically enriched terminal epoxides in high yields.
