Significance
The nanomicelle-forming amphiphile PTS (PEG-tocopheryl sebacate) efficiently enables the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl halides and arylboronic acids in pure water using commercially available palladium catalysts. The reaction proceeds under very mild conditions with temperatures ranging from room temperature to 40 ˚C. This aqueous cross-coupling yields the corresponding biaryls in excellent yields.
