Significance
This work expands the scope of tandem intramolecular silylformylation-(allyl)crotylsilylation by demonstrating that internal alkynes can be used as substrates, allowing for the generation of an additional stereocenter. The authors also demonstrate the application of this methodology to polyketide natural product synthesis.
