Significance
A Ni/Cu-cocatalyzed oxidative coupling between two different terminal alkynes was discovered. NiCl2 and CuI are hereby supposed to catalyze the reaction in a synergistic way. Efficient heterocoupling was achieved by employing an excess of one terminal alkyne (five equivalents).
