Significance
The authors report the synthesis of organoboron 1,3-diketonate polymers. The synthesis begins with a Sonogashira-Hagihara coupling to generate the polymeric precursor. Deprotection followed by treatment with the appropriate organoborane reagent afforded the organoboron 1,3-diketonate polymers in high yield and moderate molecular weights. The post-polymerization functionalization conversions were calculated to be 92-94%.
