Significance

(+)-Lepadin F was isolated from Aplidium tabascum, an Australian ascidian. The lepadin family possesses antiplasmodial and anti­trypanosomal properties. For the first enantio­selective total synthesis of (+)-lepadin F see: A. Niethe, D. Fischer, S. Blechert J. Org. Chem. 2008, 73, 3088.
