Significance
Efficient catalytic methods of hydroboration are a continued effort of several research groups. Particularly important are enantioselective variants of these transformations. Discussed in this communication is the ongoing research of metal N-heterocyclic carbene catalysts in this group. Specifically, a copper-catalyzed N-heterocyclic carbene which promotes the hydroboration reaction efficiently.
