Significance
Copper-supported ionic liquid catalyst (Cu-SILC) was prepared on the amorphous silica gel upon exposure to an MeCN solution of CuBr˙Me2S and [bmim]PF6. Huisgen [3+2] cyclo-addition of various azides 1 and terminal acetylenes 2 was carried out with Cu-SILC in 50% aqueous ethanol at room temperature to give the corresponding 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles 3a-l in 73-100% yield (12 examples).
