Cyanosilylation and Hydrosilylation with Poly-NHC Particles

Significance

Main-chain poly-N-heterocyclic carbene polymer (poly-NHC) particles catalyzed the cyanosilylation of carbonyl compounds 1 with trimethylsilyl cyanide to give the corresponding TMS-cyanohydrins 2 in 99% yield (eq. 1, four examples). Poly-NHC particles were utilized for the hydrosilylation of ketones 3 or imine 5 to give silylethers 4 in 99% yield (seven examples) or amine 6 in 99% yield (eq. 2).
