Significance

Palladium-decorated carbon nanotubes (Pd-CNTs) were prepared by depositing Pd(dba)2 on purified multi-walled carbon nanotubes followed by activation under reductive atmosphere. The Pd-CNTs promoted the ligandless and additive-free heterogeneous Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of arylbromides with aryl boronic acids to give the corresponding biaryl compounds in 67-99% yield (16 examples).
