Significance

Cyclic thioamides and thioureas are relatively easy to synthesize and are therefore useful starting materials for the synthesis of various heterocyclic derivatives. Herein, a general palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of these compounds with various boron, tin, and silicon nucleophiles is described. The reaction can be applied to a various range of heterocyclic structures and proceeds in good yields.
