Significance
Indium(I) triflate has been found to be an effective Lewis acid catalyst for unprecedented nucleophilic substitution of acetals or ketals using allyl boronates. In contrast to the typical γ-selectivity of allyl silanes in the Hosomi-Sakurai reaction, this variant displays a distinct α-selectivity.
