Significance
The authors report the synthesis of trifluoroethoxy-substituted subphthalocyanine (SubPc, 1). The peripheral coating improves the yields of axial ligand substitution reactions and prevents aggregation, as compared to the pristine- and fluorine-substituted SubPcs.
