Significance
The amphiphilic polystyrene-poly-(ethylene glycol) resin supported di(tert-butyl)-phosphine-palladium complex was prepared and found to promote the Buchwald-Hartwig reaction in water. Thus, the complex 1-Pd was prepared from ligand 1 and palladium according to the reported procedures (Y. Hirai, Y. Uozumi Chem. Commun. 2010, 46, 1103). The amination of PhBr (3) was carried out with HNPh2 (4) in the presence of 1-Pd to give triphenylamine (5a) in 92% yield.
