Significance
(+)-Lycoflexine was first isolated in 1973 and belongs to the Lycopodium alkaloid family. The tetracyclic structure contains four carbogenic stereocenters, two of which are quaternary. This principal total synthesis of (+)-lycoflexine was accomplished over eight steps and an overall yield of 13%.
