Significance
The authors describe the synthesis of an anionic conjugated polyelectrolyte based on a conjugated poly(phenylene ethylene) and a dendritic polyamidoamine bearing carboxylate groups. The described polymer displays good water solubility, slight aggregation, and a relatively high quantum yield. A novel fluorescence turn-on assay for glutathione reductase (GR) activity has been developed.
