Significance
A new synthetic approach for the synthesis of functionalized allylsilanes and allylboronates from allylic alcohols is reported. This palladium-catalyzed reaction proceeds under mild and neutral conditions without additives or inert gas atmosphere and affords regio- and stereodefined products. Many functional groups are tolerated, including aromatic hydroxyl or nitro substituents as well as esters.
