Significance

The authors report a palladium-­catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of tosylhydrazones and aryl nonaflates. The hydrazones are readily available from carbonyl compounds. The reaction does not require stoichiometric amounts of organometallic reagents and allows an efficient synthesis of di-, tri-, and tetrasubstituted aryl alkenes.
