Significance

Polystyrene-immobilized cationic gold(I) catalysts 2a and 2b were prepared and exhibited high catalytic activity for the intramolecular ring-forming reactions leading to heterocycles 4 and 6, and a cycloalkane 8 (71-98% yield). Catalyst 2a was applied to a flow (0.065 M, 1-2.5 mL/min) reactor system to achieve rapid and continuous production of 4a [92%: flow rate = 1.0 mL/min, 89%: flow rate = 2.5 mL/min (4.04 g production within 30 min)].
