Significance
Fe3O4 nanoparticles promoted the reaction of carbonyl compounds 1, amines 2, and diethyl phosphate 3 under solvent-free conditions to achieve a one-pot synthesis to form α-aminophosphonates 4 within less than one hour in 76-94% yield (21 examples). For the formation of 4a, the catalyst was magnetically recovered and reused ten times without significant loss of activity (1st reuse: 94%; 2nd reuse: 92%; 10th reuse: 86%).
