Significance

The authors extend their work on C-H insertion of α-diazosulfones to the enantio­selective C-H insertion of α-diazo-β-keto sulfones using a copper bis(oxazoline) complex. Intramolecular formation of these α-sulfonyl cyclopentanones occurs with up to 82% ee.
