Significance
Anthranilamide has been established as a new protecting group for boronic acids as well as a directing group for ruthenium-catalyzed ortho-C-H-silylation reactions. Therefore, a sequential cross-coupling-ortho-silylation reaction to construct highly elaborated arylboronic acids has now become feasible.
