Asymmetric Domino Synthesis of N-Sulfonylamidines

Significance

The authors describe a selective three-component synthesis of amidines 4. These synthons find a lot of applications in coordination and medicinal chemistry, and the development of new synthetic strategies towards them can be important. This protocol provides the products in high yields with excellent diastereo- and enantio­selectivities. The scope is broad with respect to N-tert-butylsulfinyl aldimines 3, and the reaction can be performed on gram scale.
