Significance
The authors reported a highly stereoselective and regioselective molybdenum-catalyzed allylic alkylation of cyanoesters. Various highly functionalized branched cyanoesters bearing vicinal tertiary and quaternary stereogenic centers are obtained in excellent yield and chemoselectivity and in good to excellent diastereoselectivity and enantioselectivity.
