Significance
This report describes an asymmetric Conia-ene reaction catalyzed by a bimetallic system consisting of a hard La(III) and a soft Ag(I) Lewis acid. The functionalized cyclopentane products bearing a quaternary stereogenic center and an exocyclic olefin are obtained with high enantioselectivity.
