Significance
A recent shift from applying less common transition metals as catalysts has increased the use of iron as a catalyst. Herein, a general method for iron-catalyzed aerobic oxidative kinetic resolution of secondary alcohols is described. The reaction proceeds in air, further enhancing the environmental appeal of this method.
