Significance
Reported is the synthesis of dibenzodiazepines 4 and dibenzoxazepinones 5 and 6 via a double coupling-annulation strategy. Reaction optimization details are reported demonstrating the importance of appropriate ligand selection. Wide substrate scope in both coupling components was demonstrated.
