Significance
The palladium-catalyzed allylic fluorination is one of the first methods for the enantioselective synthesis of branched allylic fluorides. Following the authors’ recent report on allylic substitution of cyclic allyl chlorides (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 17402), the methodology was extended to acyclic substrates.
