Significance
Herein, a radical-mediated stereoselective coupling method for the assembly of highly oxygenated carbocycles is reported. An α-alkoxy bridgehead radical is used to form linkages between tertiary alkoxy carbon atoms and tertiary or quaternary carbons. This protocol allows the assembly of complex bicyclic molecules to form the two oxygenated ring-structure substrates.
