Significance
A novel globular-aggregated, self-assembled supramolecular composite MPPI-Pd (3) was prepared from poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-N-vinylimidazole) (1) and (NH4)2PdCl4 (2). Allylic arylation reactions of aryl acetates 4 with sodium tetraphenylborates 5 was catalyzed with MPPI-Pd (40 ppm Pd) to give the corresponding arylated products in up to 99% yield (6a-j). The allylic arylation-alkenylation with aryl/alkenylboronic acids 7 proceeded with 40 ppm of MPPI-Pd to give the corresponding aryl/alkenyl products in 97-99% yield.
