Significance
Bao Gong Teng A is isolated from Erycibe obtusifolia, a herb used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of glaucoma. The tropane ring system was created by a [5+2] cycloaddition of the enantiopure TpMo(CO)2(η3-pyridinyl) complex A in which the metal controls the diastereofacial selectivity of the cycloaddition.
