Benzoxazocines by Palladium-Catalyzed Intramolecular Amination

Significance

The synthesis of chiral cis-fused furanoso benzoxazocines by Pd-catalyzed intra­molecular (Buchwald-Hartwig) aryl amination is reported. The products were converted into the corresponding benzoxazocine derivatives by a sequence involving hydrolysis of the 1,2-O-isopropylidene group, diol cleavage, reduction and acylation, which proceeds in fair overall yield. The scope and limitations of the reaction were not widely investigated.
