Significance
A palladium thin film deposited onto an inner surface of a microcapillary was prepared by pyrolysis of Pd(OAc)2, and it was applied to microwave-assisted continuous-flow organic synthesis. The Pd film catalyzed the continuous-flow (10 µm/min) Suzuki-Miyaura reaction of aryl bromides with arylboronic acids inside the capillary under microwave irradiation to give the cross-coupling products in 73-97% yield (11 examples). The morphology and elementary composition of the Pd thin films were examined by SEM and EDX.
