Significance
A molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) as effective nanoreactor for Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azides and alkynes was developed. MIP was prepared by polymerization of methacrylic acid and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate using anti-1 as template. The imprinted nanoreactor was applied to the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of ethyl propiolate and 2-aminobenzyl azide to give triazole 1 with 94% anti-selectivity.
