Significance

The authors report a nice example of hydrosilylation of imines using inexpensive polymethylhydrosiloxane. This reagent must be used in a mixed solvent system (THF-MeOH) to obtain good selectivity. The use of simple, modular diamines also makes this protocol attractive for future use. N-Diphenylphosphinyl imines were formed stereoselectively and afforded appropriate reactivity for the reduction.
