Significance
(+)-Phyllantidine is isolated from Phyllanthus discoides and Seurinega suffruticosa. It contains an unusual and structurally challenging tetrahydro-1,2-oxazine ring, which Carson and Kerr have accessed via the Lewis acid mediated homo-1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of a nitrone and a 1,1-cyclopropyl diester.
