Significance
The authors previously demonstrated that the 3,3′-position of the salicylidene moiety of the salen ligand has a beneficial effect on the enantioselectivity in the allylation of aldehydes. The authors show this position to be influential in the Diels-Alder reaction by simply modifying the 3,3′-position.
