Significance
In the present paper, the authors follow up on their recent work using niobium and a BINOL derivative to achieve asymmetric Mannich-type reactions (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2005, 44, 761-764). They report on the efficient desymmetrization of meso-epoxides.
