Significance
A new method for allylation, crotylation, and reverse prenylation by Ir-catalyzed transfer hydrogenation is reported for both alcohols and aldehydes. The hydride is hereby directly provided by the respective alcohols. When aldehydes are used in this reaction, i-PrOH serves as hydride donor. Similar yields are achieved with both variants.
