Significance
Nemorosone and clusianone belong to the family of acylphloroglucinols and are isolated from Clusia rosea and Clusia congestiflora, respectively. Nemorosone inhibits telomerase and ERK-1/2. They were constructed from the same intermediate, D, which was prepared by an iodonium-induced carbocyclization. This synthesis is distinguished for the use of non-conventional carbanions in several steps.
