Significance
(+)-Oocydin A was extracted from the bacterium Serratia marescens. Key steps in the synthesis depicted are (1) a Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of the 1,1-dichloroalkene D with a 9-alkyl 9-BBN derivative derived from hydroboration of G and (2) the Pd(0)-catalyzed intramolecular O-allylation F → G.
