Auch wenn durch chemische bzw. pharmakologische Interventionen ein wichtiger Beitrag geleistet wird, bspw. durch Fluoridierungsmaßnahmen in der Kariesprophylaxe [1] oder durch den Einsatz von Antiseptika oder Antibiotika in der Gingivitis- und Parodontitistherapie [2], so ist die mechanische Einflussnahme auf den oralen Biofilm aufgrund der komplexen Organisation der darin enthaltenen Mikroorganismen, die sich z.
