Response to the Comments on: “Nutritional status should be considered a crucial issue regarding the effects of exercise”

We appreciate the comments from Tzu-Ting Chuang et al. regarding our recent study published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine. The observations made by the authors are relevant and highlight the inherent complexity in evaluating the effects of exercise in this context. Below, we provide our response to the points mentioned, with the hope of contributing to a constructive dialogue and the ongoing advancement in this field. Relevant nutritional issues need to be controlled in future studies, especially when involving the administration of exercise training for patients on chronic hemodialysis (CHD). We have data on the daily protein intake (115.7±51.5 and 130.9±62.2 g; control group and resistance training, respectively) and serum albumin levels (3.37±0.56 and 3.42±0.50 g/dL; control group and resistance training, respectively) but there were no differences between the groups (p>0.05).
