Significance
The syntheses of various building blocks containing triazaadamantyl (TAA) units, including dendrimer 1, are reported. The TAA units can undergo hydrolysis under physiological conditions to its respective aldehyde and tris(aminomethyl) components. In case of 1, which is non-toxic, the hydrolysis products are also non-toxic, allowing a possible application in drug delivery.
